What A Week!

This is the end of my first week of having this new website and what a start it has been!  First of all I had a few problems with my FTP software and could not get access my website.  When I finally go it sorted with the aid of my very helpful hosting company, I decided to post a few articles with the intention to start off as I intend to continue.  If you have read my other article about myself you will know that I also happen to run a post office. Usually mid month is not too busy and I was hoping this would be quiet week and I leave the staff to deal with things there. I could then concentrate on the website during the day. Well needless to say that never happened and I ended up writing my articles in the evenings.

Since I am really enjoying what I am doing I thought no big deal about that and after finishing my evening meal I sat down in front of the computer started happily typing away.  I wrote the content for some of my posts and then reread them again and updated them again, and again, and again.  Finally I decided I was content with them and wanted to move on.  Friday afternoon, my wife takes a call from her Dad to say her Mum had took a tumble in their kitchen and he had called an ambulance because her ankle looked bad.  Fortunately they don’t live too far from us and we jumped in the car and drove over to them.  When we got to the house the ambulance had arrived and mum was being treated by  the paramedics.  They told us that she had broke her ankle and would have to go to hospital for further treatment because it looked pretty bad.  When she as seen by the doctors there  they decided that she needed an operation on her ankle to pin the bone, but this could not happen until next week when her ankle swelling should go down.

What this meant for me was my planned evenings for my website have now changed again into night shifts because of the hospital visits after work.   Now I am certainly not grumbling about things because this is my family and they matter to me.  What I am telling  you that even if your life gets turned on its head because of fate we all have to adjust because of our circumstances.  If you really want to do something that matters to you, (including work on your computer), you can still find the time no matter what fate has planned for you!

  1. Hi Will, I’m a 2009 masterclass student and noticed your link in the widget so thought i’d pop over and say “Hi”.

Will you’re bang on with this post, love the fighting spirt you have. I hope that your mother in law isn’t to uncomfortable. I know exactly where you’re coming from, if you follow this link it’ll explain my situation: http://barry-wells.com/just-a-quick-catch-up/

My moto is, “Do what you can when you can and you’re moving in the right direction, only try and do a little every day”. If you can’t get to the computer you can still work on your business by thinking of direction and planning your steps ahead.

You’ll get there Will, best of luck my friend.

    Regards, Barry
